Welcome to the website of Loren B. Harwood, CPA, LLC. We are located on the Southern Oregon Coast in the town of North Bend. The area is home to spectacular beaches, forests, lakes, rivers and parks. In addition, we are known around the world as a premier golf destination. Flights from Portland and San Francisco routinely land at our local Soutwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) full of golfers and gear. We are a major deep water port and attract vessels from around the world. Bandon, Port Orford, Lakeside and other communities surround the larger towns of Coos Bay and North Bend. No description of our area would be complete without a nod to Steve Prefontaine. CPA is the acronym for Certified Public Accountant. The CPA license is granted to an accountant who has met the education and experience requirements of the State Board of Accountancy. The individual accountant must also pass the CPA examination. Once the CPA license is obtained the accountant must maintain it by completing 80 hours of continuing education every two years. This helps to protect the client. A CPA may serve one client or many. They fill accountant positions in public and private companies as well as in accounting firms.
